Bob Affelder PGA Professional/Director

The Ocean City, Maryland school is directed by Bob Affelder. Bob went to Avon Old Farms and is a graduate of Rollins College, where he played four years of collegiate NCAA golf and received a BA degree in Sociology and Communications. He has been a Class A Member of the PGA for twenty two years. Bob has been with The Original Golf School since 1986. He has taught hundreds of classes at both the Mt. Snow, Vermont and Crystal River, Florida golf schools. He was director in New Hampshire for three seasons and is entering his thirteenth year as director of the Ocean City school. As well as teaching golf for over 25 years, he has played in numerous tournaments. Among his victories are the New Hampshire PGA and Southern Vermont Open. He recently qualified and played in the 2011 US Senior Open at Inverness Golf Club in Toledo, Ohio and won the 2011 Maryland Senior Open. Bob was also one of four golf pros to start the first golf school in Switzerland. His knowledge of the golf swing, course management, club selection and club fitting has helped him improve the games of thousands of students for nearly three decades.
Edmund Galante "Omar" Golf School Teaching Professional

Ed Galante, known as "Omar" to his peers and students, has taught at The Original Golf School since 1985. He has mentored thousands of students over the years with great success. Omar was also one of the pioneer American golf instructors in Switzerland in 1993. He helped and inspired many new Swiss golfers to learn and enjoy the game during the three years he was there. Omar is a very patient, affable teacher. He has a certain calmness about him that students find relaxing and that helps them feel at ease in a learning environment. He possesses a vast knowledge of the game and has the rare ability to know what to say, how much to say and when to say things to students, so they can improve without being overwhelmed with information. He is a "no pressure" golf pro that helps students learn at their own pace. He loves playing the game of golf, but his true passion is teaching and the rewards that come from his student's accomplishments.
Richard Robinson BS, MA Master Teaching Professional

Richard brings a unique combination of skills and experience to The Original Golf School. Academic training and research in sports psychology, kinesiology, coaching education, and sports management experience contribute to his ability to help students find their personal path to golfing success, especially those with physical limitations. Richard's appreciation for the value of mental and physical fitness training to enhance sports performance has not been limited to golf. A collegiate golfer and Class A member of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America, he was also a Class I Olympic weightlifter, coach, and adminstrator of national and international competitions with the AAU and the United States Olympic Weightlifing Federation. He served as a member of the maryland Physical Fitness Commission, the American Coaching Effectiveness Program, and the PAR Performance Training Institute. An avid golf historian with international playing experience, Richard's interest in the evolution of the golf swing and golf instruction helps students link to the traditions as well as the techniques of the game. His experiences with the PGA tour as an official starter and first tee announcer at events such as the Kemper, Booze Allen, FBR, United States Open, United States Senior Open, and the British Open IFQ provide him with a unique perspective resulting from up close interaction with many of the games great players of the last 20 years.
